- demo Commodore 64 Edge of Disgrace by Booze Design
- In case it wasn't obvious, I was heaping praise on the demo, not fuckings. That's hall of fame material.

- demo Commodore 64 Edge of Disgrace by Booze Design
- I think HOLY FUCKING SHIT is an appropriate response. Wow.
Seeing this is almost enough for me to just throw up my hands and stop coding.... almost ;-) - rulezadded on the 2008-11-05 07:43:28

- People complaining that this isn't a real demo are either too young to remember invtros or have never attended boozembly. Or are morons.
I will be there! - isokadded on the 2008-08-21 03:27:07
- demotool MS-Dos Monotone by Hornet [web]
- "OOP development for that old dinosaur must be like giving birth through your nose... while having a cold!"
It was more like a different orifice, actually...
I got around most of my issues with methods like TSong.GiveMeAPointerToTheRowDammit()
Not really, but you get the idea (there were times when the triple-pointer-loading in loops was unacceptable so I did my own caching). - isokadded on the 2008-04-21 20:24:24
- invitation Windows blockparty 2008 invitation by Trailer Park Demos [web]
- Wow, that was MUCH better than I expected! That's not lip service just because I'll be there -- I'm being quite serious! The rap was probably the first non-cheezy rap I've ever heard in a demo (shame it took 20 years ;-) Great style, very clean code and execution. Was nice to see real rounded cubes (for a second I thought they were sprites).

- demo MS-Dos Saga by Dust
- Some parts have a mixed-music engine; they use 4-channel MOD mixing for some voices and Adlib FM synth for others, which makes Dust the only other PC group to do this other than Renaissance.

- artpack musicdisk Windows BitJam Vol. 1.1 : Solaris by BitFellas [web]
- As someone who remembers the oldskool musicdisks (PC had a few good ones too), this is a product worthy of both the old and new scenes. 110% double-plus good.

- demo Gameboy Advance 8088 corruption (GBA HACK!) by Jumalauta [web]
- "I always wondered why there aren't much people interested in that as there are in C64, CPC, Spectrum and other 8bits." My theory on that is because the PC is *still around* (ie. it never "died"). From a coding standpoint, it was always changing (286 added fast MULs, 386 added 32-bit regs and operations, etc.) so there isn't the "best possible code" feeling you get with something like C64 where every single instruction timing and size is known.
Also, CPC, Spectrum, etc. have *some* sort of sprite hardware so there is more fun to be had manipulating the graphics. Still, I've already written full-screen 60Hz copper effects on CGA... :-) - isokadded on the 2006-08-25 21:53:30
