There are/were some tutorials and code (some basics) already done on the X68000. Non-japanese ofkoz.
If you are a decent m68000/C/C++ coder, there is no special need to understand Japanese. The Japanese X68000 books were very good and rich, with many code exemples. In some you had even a memory map. At least I am talking about those I had a possibility to look at and/or buy.
More challenging - imo - is to get used to the machine and its HUMAN OS. But it is doable and easier now then in the past ;). - rulezadded on the 2024-08-11 13:49:23

A small story.
It reminds me that together with Secret we were working (around 2017) on Taito's "大旋風" (Dai sen puu) ("Twin Hawk" in the rest of the world) arcade shooter. Not the best one developped by Toaplan, but not bad neither.
We - ofcoz - removed the CRC checkings, I retouched the main screen, the 大旋風 logo (started in 2014 I think), many in-game sprites and so on. Secret - on his side - did some wise code-work and included a neafty trainer-intro to it.
Unfortunately, during 2018 I lost contact with Secret (re-contact me dude!!!) and the project was unfortunately put away and not finished.
