- demo Windows Glon 243 by Cocoon [web]
- It's different from most standard demos and that in itself deserves credit.
But it's actually a really great prod. Very slick, the design is consistent and it all makes for a very entertaining show.
I should also add that the graphics throughout are excellent and really create a lot of atmosphere - especially the moon and clouds. - rulezadded on the 2001-12-05 20:02:51
- demo Windows Shad 2 by Cocoon [web]
- This one suffers,I think, from "over-design": Too many transparent layers of text and too many pointless foreground images.
Also, I thought a lot of the ideas were quite puerile and tacky - like the train with the gruesome face and the spiky-outfitted woman in the monster's belly.
Seems ironic, but it would have been better had the artists done less work towards it.

- 64k invitation Windows fr-013: flybye by Farbrausch [web]
- The Party will make you happy.
Free publicity sucks, but this really is an astounding 64k feat.

- demo Windows slavery by Fairlight [web]
- Nothing spectacular, but a decent show of graphics and code. The music is just a bit too overpowering however.
EtTV is a far more flattering demonstration of this team's skills. - isokadded on the 2001-11-29 20:58:07
- demo Windows De Profundis by kolor [web]
- My apologies. It seems I had been watching the demo without textures. They make a big difference. Fantastic artwork I must say, it's just a shame about the speed of the demo.
As for Kasparov; the statement it makes, I gather, is more to do with oppression and control, the artificial reproduction of nature, and the future of this planet.
Personally, I didn't find anything profound about De Profundis. But it has a Latin title, so that should be enough to fool most sceners. :)

- demo Windows Kasparov by Elitegroup [web]
- A breathtaking feat of coding that has pushed 3d engines to an unreachable level, in terms of both speed and depth.
The cold and gritty atmosphere is tremendous too (especially when listening to it through headphones).
Sure, it's long and repetetive, but that's the theme of the demo, and that's what makes it so unsettling. - rulezadded on the 2001-11-29 00:05:17
- demo Windows De Profundis by kolor [web]
- Shorter, slower, less texures, less effects, less detail and less atmosphere than Kasparov.
The fact is, it has all been done before, and done better.
I'm not saying it's a bad demo, but it breaks no new ground. - isokadded on the 2001-11-28 23:05:54
- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Megademo by Budbrain
- This was my sole inspiration for becoming a scener.

- demo Windows 359.60° by anaconda [web]
- Lacks consistency and lacks transitions between effects.
There was potential for a good demo here, but they didn't use it.
Love the music however; reminds me of Slide's Polka Bros mods.

- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Absolute Inebriation by Virtual Dreams & Fairlight [web]
- You must see this!! One of the greatest demos of all time, but sadly overlooked due to non-aga compatibility.
There is a HD installer (see aminet) which sorts the problem however.
Virtual Dreams at their best! - rulezadded on the 2001-11-28 22:21:03
