- During competition the cycles in dosbox.conf were: cycles=276000 - (tuned + approved by myself), a bit unfortunately the intros were not run full 2 minutes (as was the limit), so the intro didn't fully evolve as planned (almost reached first calmness period), but still what was shown was more than representative, and at least it didn't get too boring. :) .... dang, sensestahl ninjaed me, are you a bot, or what? :-o

- while watching this at party, I was like ... hmm.. okay... not bad... that one was quite ok too .... ... ... wait a second, this is 4k, how many effects did he cram in? Can't recall anything really standing out, but as a wholesome package it was miles ahead of everything else in 4k that day...

- I'm so glad I did watch this after I have my next 256B ready for release, otherwise I would probably need another decade to recover... :D excellent stuff.

- I love the story and music. Technically impressive as well, but this will stand even years after the effects would wear (if they didn't already). I also like how many people did notice it has story, makes me somewhat more optimistic about mankind.

- goblinish: ?? I don't even know what is ATM2 and I don't care.
The Spectrum (genuine 48 and 128 models) never had DMA at all, and with 3.5MHz CPU and 6912B of graphic buffer you were sort of glad if you managed just to clear the screen at 50fps, I'm not even mentioning some pixel drawing... That's how the Speccy rolls.
The new Pentagon/etc machines are something different, actually even old Speccy with Busy's MB-02 disk system connected (does contain DMA chip) can do remarkably different tricks, but if you need more HW power, why not PC? I prefer ZX to be ZX, nothing more. - isokadded on the 2014-03-12 01:57:52
