- @noby: the particle shadowing is based on implementing "particle shadow maps" from as roughly described by Nvidia for example here: Particle shadows and cache efficient post-processing pdf
Of course we have added our own spices on top of that, for example enabling the psm to work hand in hand with traditional shadow maps - providing shadows between particles and other 3d geometries.
