Best PC config for late ('98~'02) DOS demos?

Win95 is rather useless when choosing an et4000/w32. Only DirectX61 installed a direct-draw capable driver for the tseng, but beside that no demo/intro and nearly all of the 2d-Game-Stuff does not work. I only got EarthWormJim and PitfallTheMayanAdventure to work with it.
...and for Dos-Demos you should give a S3 or a CL card a go, they are better and compatibler then an et4000/w32.
If someone is interested; I found out that the Cirrus Logic 5428 has a hardware bug. If you have more than 12 megs of ram, you can't use linear framebuffer like univesa.
