Looking for an Amiga demo scene contact

category: general [glöplog]

Hi there, I'm not sure whether this is the right place for this ..
I am one of the guys who now, after a quarter century, am wanting to do a demo on the classic Amiga again (A500, A1200) - but I don't want to do this on my own, at least I am looking for other Amiga fellows who feel to be in the same situation of wanting to do a production for this classic computer again.

Of cause I could just sit back in my room and do some coding on my own, but now, at a few years older and a bit more experienced, I just find it boring to do it on my own without someone to discuss the ideas with, so I'm looking for a contact for morale support to increase the motivation - maybe a multipart demo could result from that with parts of other coders. Maybe someone else just feels the same but needs an ignition spark in order to get going.

Regards,
lleurt

you should take a look at the datastorm compos and visitors then. lots of likeminded folks supposed to be there and release stuff (c64 too).

or, if you can stand dutch people. http://www.amigascene.nl/. i'm sure there must be german equivalents too.
http://ada.untergrund.net/forum/ is probably a good place to look too.

(regarding ada forum) maybe not, because of registration disabled for some time and won't be open any time soon.

or you can probably do stuff with Desire. Who can use more active amiga coders. RamonB5 currently hires people like Desire's the next Titan anyway. contact him via facepoop or that amigascene i showed earlier.
Thank you guys for all that information.

As a last resort, meeting people are party is another way to get in touch with other developers. I have heard about that Datastorm meeting - this is in fact my favorite for a party visit! However this year I can't make it to that place, as it is in two weeks and I already attend to a music fest in amsterdam this week, so the budget for the next weeks is already used up, but it is for sure cool place to go and am looking forward in the future.

In april is another demo party in Saarbrücken / Germany, which is close to me, so I will definitely check that place.

Thanks to Maali, I'll check if the dutch scene is something which can work out. Joining a group may ofcause also be an option!

See ya.

If you have nothing terribly important to do during the Easter holidays, Saarbrücken is definitely the place to be in terms of getting in contact with active Amiga people. It's Revision of course.

Another place to get in contact with amigasceners is the irc-channel #amigascne.

I am originally a c-64 coder, but did a lot of stuff on A500 and A1200 lately. So any kind of knowlegde/experience exchange is extremely welcome.

Just contact me: AXTMANNatGMXdotDE

At IRCNet. Just so you know. That's a good place to find people.

Also, you should go to Saarbrücken! Even if your demo is half-finished by then. :]
