Perhaps something for the »coup de coeur«-box?

Never knew that this killer song was used in a demo, and such a nice one, too. Wondered that there are only 11 votes so far.

Someone's gonna have to explain me what the fuck that "fastest pencil ever" (as seen on the screenshot as well) routine is actually doing, because it just looks like a really weirdly shaded cube to me.

"Pencil shading" is basically just a static, horizontal gradient over each scan-line a polygon covers.

Nice demo, but that pencil effect I don't quite like. Reminds me of a similar technique I've seen outside the demoscene though that might be viable on OCS level hardware.

Basically, you take say 4 textures, each one is pencil shaded with a 'grey level', so you have 4 levels of grey with the darkest having heavy pencilling and the lighting having light, spread out pencil lines. Then you just select one of the textures based on the pixel colour. End result is a quite nice but very cheap pencil effect.

I honestly have no idea how I'd implement that in mIRC, but I might at some point be tempted to try.

no1 really ever liked pencils ;) most-ugly-vectors ever!
Pencil vectors were first done by Spook/Digital for The Punisher. Not the most common effect out there but seen in a couple of demos between 1992-1994, such as Boggledop..

14 years ago I made this cover of the song. Unfortunately it's unfinished. To play use AY Emulator.
