Tridef compatible demos

category: offtopic [glöplog]

Hi all,

I have LG 3D monitor/TV combo with Tridef that should make any DX9 and above softwares combatible with polarized glasses. Tried couple of demos and Realtime Generation by Fairlight^Alcatraz^ASD works like wonders and Popular demo by Farbrausch too.

Is Realtime Generation specially made for polarized classes? How come Popular demo works, but, for example Don't Stop by Portal Process does not? Nor does Debris etc.

No idea about the others but in the case of Don't Stop it could be linked to the fact that it's OpenGL? (at least I would expect it to be... haven't checked though)

Also; ugly hacks (such as "auto-3D") don't necessarily go very well together with other ugly hacks (such as demos)...
I wonder how it copes with fragment/pixel shader effects like ray marching...

it doesnt, unless you have some post-processed 3D effect like e.g. youtube can offer and that looks shit.
I tink that teidef inject to the .exe. Like i say it wont work on GL but for dx based demos.

Have to test this with BITS demos :)

I find it excessively annoying that nvidia removed opengl support for their 3d-glass solution.. okay, sure, it's still there, but only for their "workstation" cards :(

Back when they introduced the whole stereo-3d glass support (those wired ELSA shutter glasses and CRT monitors etc..) it worked just fine, and many demos that were definitely not designed for it looked pretty cool.

I'm not sure if I would have bought a nvidia 3d glass system if I had known that they had removed the support..

sol: if it's a driver difference you might try running the workstation card drivers. I know I've done the opposite before (consumer drivers for a workstation card), but it was a long time back.

If it was that simple, someone would have tried it by now.. People are using some OpenGL to d3d wrappers to get stuff to work, and that's only really viable on OpenGL 1.x stuff.
