modfan, imitation is the highest form of flattery but there's no question who ripped off who here. Disney even plagiarizes themselves! The conclusion must be that Disney is low on inspiration. You could even say that Inspiration is none ;)
psonice, yes, the megalomaniacal anemic-brain-staffed USWORLD patent office has been a going concern for nigh on a century. The biggest invention they've stopped (by holding out on granting PROPER patents held in all countries BUT the world ruler USA) that I know of is Alu batteries. When some US company has caught up maybe we'll see them. At the same time they've granted a patent of the bra to some new US company, about a century after its invention.
But surely someone besides Disney made you point to your temple in soul-gripping Weltschmerz, doubting their sanity? (Doesn't need to be a big institution or corporation, even if they provide most of these moments today.)
