If it was only one compo I could watch, I'd pick a recent one for sure. Going back to see some classic sounds great, but the reality would be a hall full of geeky teens watching rasterbars for half an hour on a small tv.

actually the reality would be fat germans watching animal porn on a huge tv

rasmus: Most likely, yeah, seeing as I was _in_ Proxima at that time. :) We also sat with Darkzone and the guys from Acme down the row.

That was actually totally awesome.

keep in mind that those huge tvs back then are damn small by todays standards :) Back then 32" was massive, now it's just a regular tv. Although if it's animal porn, a small tv is probably a good thing ;)

Any party I already visited, I can't seem to remember a single compo.

mel: ahh ok seams like I might not have missed too much then. I had my share of nice first public showings FR-08, Second Reality C64, Nexus7, Arte, Roots, State of the Art, 9 Fingers and many many others.

The Party. I never went and people still talk about them. I even met a guy who still carries a map in his wallet of the seating plan from TP93.

Breakpoint, Assembly, Remedy - those I visited. They were great too.

I wouldn't bother with compos, but I'd travel to Asm98 and tell my self to forget all this demoscene and computer crap and buy a skateboard.

Probably Assembly 95, just because I had to leave the party before the actual demo compo. Wouldn't want to suffer through the incredibly boring PC 4k (or was it 64k?) compo again though, with 7000 entries each featuring a single rotating torus..
