Perhaps the original question should have been (like all questions of this type) "Which is bigger - my cock or yours?"

In which case the answer would most definitely be mine!

(That's Atari, by the way!!!!!)
People (like me and Defjam and many others) still code for STF/M, which is considered the "bare" Atari 16-bit machine.

Do people still make demos for the A500?

> That's blasphemous.

i still have 2 a1200's, but emulation is simply easier, sad to say, but that's a fact.

ggn - slummy is our master, he sometimes makes a500 demos, even nowadays.

noone else i know :)
but we have arte or desert dream...

Commandor 64bits...
it's an amiga/atari topic, so no c-64's here.

well, the guy who made the c64 also made the atari st:

SHIRAZ SHIVJI

He is known as the father of the Commodore 64 and the Atari ST.

As Atari's Vice President of Research & Development, Shiraz Shivji led the team of six engineers who successfully designed the 520ST computer in an unprecedentedly short time of five months. Among the many technological breakthroughs of Shivji's 520ST team was lowering the cost of producing high band-width video monitor technology down to far less than what it had previously been.

Shiraz Shivji and the rest of the Atari Corp. engineers succeeded at a heroic task in creating the prototype 130XE and the 520ST during the hectic summer and autumn of 1984.

he probably did a great job, but his genius is not to compare with Jay Miner's... :)

I'm typing this into IBrowse 2.3 running on my Amiga2000 w/060 + some other stuffs inside... :) I'm surfing the net in 1024/hicolor, watching TV, listening MP3's or 32+ channel modules (own player, soon to be published:), do some coding, burning CD's, etc... And oh, yeah i've nearly forgot:.the mainboard has a sticker: "Copyright 1988 Commodore"... Oh, and near me sleeps my little beauty, the A1200/060. Just in case to watch any AGA demos.

Atari...? Was a nice try, no question... :)

I never owned either personally, but the Amiga was always the Holy Grail for us poor kids.

"better" .. that's relative. ;)

but, the a500 demos I remember, f.e. by Mad Elks,
were real killers.

Oh yeah. All those endless sinus-scrollers were *so* much fun. Forget modern productions such as Candytron, ix, Dreamchild, Heaven 7, etc.. Scrollers are where the real action is.
Out of the mentioned, only "Heaven 7" is very good.
"Candytron" is very nice, but it seems it requires DX9.
(and.. bla. forget it.)

Motorola Inside.

Thom: You picked the worst example of Amigo demos and compared them to some of the best examples of PC demos. That's so wrong! Now go and have lunch with your boss!!

Thom: What was the last Amiga demo you've seen? Red Sector Megademo? :) A few newer ones appeared since, you know... :)

Teo: Ja nincs ra flass. De en ezt az erenyei koze sorolom! :) Aki meg eladta a 060-at, az csak kusoljon. Bar legalabb most olyannal van, aki hasznalja is, nem csak obegat. (Otherz: english-hungarian dictionary is here. :)

For your information, I *was* one of the few losers who actually bought a PPC card for my A4000. (I sold it on eBay for a fortune.)

Furthermore, Amiga zealots are all fags.
thom: amen!

I've never had any problems with any 8-bit or 16-bit niche fanclub, except those tainted with the brand-name commodore.

I swear, the next time I have to explain that I used to own a C64 and decided to go a more serious platform, and that this doesn't mean I AM A FUCKING NEWBIE, I will have to yield some blunt object to rest my case.

I find it funny that I have to explain this to people who wheren't even done filling diapers when I was tinkering with my C64.

Headcases, the lot of them ;)
