has anything "new and fresh" been added to the engine yet?

many things, altough he coded all the time!
As this thread is about loosy personal demo engines, let me announce my 2005/2009 project known as "veda" is officially stopped, because of "too much work to really get something with it", and also because of "that automatic interface generation thing is not so handy as I thought".
( I tried to do something when you implements your cpp classes by registering your members as GUI-editable and serializable, implement an optional preview method by class and that's all), Sounds like naked objects pattern . There was also a neat way to manage pointers and dependencies betwen objects. Oh , and you could get/set sound streams from within any class (even graphic objects)
There was a working executable generation, that was generating executable by cross-compilation for each platform in one click (win, dreamcast,...)

- but:
- was lacking some "metadata" layer to manage version changes of the serialized binaries.
- was lacking a getModifier->setValue() things !! damnit.
- loosy mfc interface was unusable for a lot of objects.
- should have been only a demo linker / was turning into a loosy 3D modeler
- you don't really code fx or do anything arty when you work on all that.
- was great to anyway (no regret).

Changed the “Add 2D Square” option to not go disabled when you click on it. So everytime you want to change a value in the script files, this is now possible as the scripts written in the button always overwrites with new data read by the demo-player.

Programmer's Log:

I've added a few enters in my code today. I wasn't happy with the separation between variable declarations and remaining code. I also removed an extra space after a comma.

if only the blender guys have separated their GUI from the whole blender code, one could use that for portable demotool interface. They planned to do it, but they didn't.

.net is very terrible, though, so you're not missing out. I like Qt. Qt is mostly nice.
