32/64/128/256 byte intros dont run anymore

category: general [glöplog]

i changed my pc hardware in the beginning of this year from a Pentium 4 to an AMD processor (PhenomII X2 555).
the OS is WinXP SP3 as before. logged on as admin.

some 512 byte intros run but i think those were .exe files, not .com files.
now everytime i try to execute a 32 to 256 bytes intro i get following message

BB Image

i already googled my fingers off and cant find a solution. any tipps?

Anyway, try going to the files their property's -> security and remove all users having access to it, then add yourself again. It could be policies which are screwing with you. Had the same problem while ago.
NEVER install Win7, mate ;)

i am soo happy i kept my XP-install !
( which only took me some days to recover after installing SEVEN ! ) ;)

guess some PPC is overdue ! fucking retards at m$ !
Also 64-bit installs won't let you run 16-bit binaries. :(

If all else fails, try dosbox or another emu!

yep, g-man !
most likely you have xp sp3 , but 64bit ! ofcoz dos-prods wont work anymore !
get dosbox.
i still kept it 32 bit so far.
its basically the same OS as on the old computer - only the hardware has changed.

guess i have to go the dosbox way, then. thx anyways 8)
