You can add me to that list too. I guess a lot of people who knew the scene back in the amiga days are still around now, and if they were just 10 back then they'll be at least 20 now, so they're quite likely to be married.

As to the scene 'getting old', I'd say the scene is still young, as is the computer in general. When hardware performance reaches it's limit, and demos have pushed the possibilities to the limit, the scene will start to get old (much as the c64 scene is perhaps getting old - few new effects, things that really impress you get rarer, but still good demos are released). Of course the average age of sceners will be getting older - people usually join fairly young, but many stay in the scene pushing that age up. I think that's a good thing really, as it will bring some more mature demos to our screens :)

Add me

I agree with psonice, except the definition of mature demos. Because i have seen a lot of demos that should havebeen rated "adult" but an adult rating, doesnt at all make the demo mature...mostly its the opposite.

I was thinking 'mature' as in 'more serious themes done in a well thought out way' or something like that, not 'adult content' iblis :) That kind of stuff is indeed mostly imature.

hahaha... iblis made a fatal freudian slip there - look out for the crispy grannies getting wild!

anything from maturefurk?

Maturefurking is certainly more enjoyable that teenfurking :) Actually, their demos may be mature from code/graphics/music point of view, but not quite what I was thinking. I'll have a look through see what I can see.

Perhaps haujobb: liquid wenn would be a start, although I think it needs a few watches to see the point enough.

Kolor: die profundis goes a fair way in the right direction too.

Fearmoths: little things is kind of getting there.

Mfx: ultimatum to poland also.

There are probably others I can't think of, and there are loads that make a small start but miss the target by a long distance (eg. heaven7). I don't think any of them are that far down the path to 'demo maturity' but I've noticed that they seem to get closer each year.

Dalezy. Well IMO their demo's are like everybody elses, except it shows that they are "pro's". But to rate their stuff more mature than others needs an explaination :)

I think if any demo i have seen is mature it is the MFX polandblahblahsomething demo. It maybe coincidence and pure luck, but it just seems so well thought out.

never get married - you'll miss plenty of cool parties just to realize after 10 years that your wife is a total bitch.

rio: what have catholics got to do with marriage? So far as i know, catholics have the same ideas about marriage as anyone else, except if you're gay (in which case you should become a priest, and all your needs will be looked after by the choir boys)

Rasputina: there's 2 lessons there I think: 1. Never marry a bitch, 2. continue going to parties with your wife.

Yes, but you probably only know that when it's too late :)

If you realized after 10 years that you was married to a total bitch then you deserves it!

10 years living with a bitch, and all the stress of a divorce at the end of it. That's quite some punishment...

Are there any sceners married to other sceners btw? Perhaps as there are so few femisceners there are some married gay scener couples? Would surely be funny to see a demo by two husbands :)

Psonice: Ok, I can understand that a wife is some kind of so-called second half (or she otta be), but going out to *every* pardey with her...
Well, really I dunno, cause I am not married (yet?).

The second. Well, personally I spend a lot of time with the computer (job or univ.) . I think it will not work in the marriage.

Married scenners: Antichrist/Genesis*Project (C64 cracking group) and the Sorceress/G*P too. He (AChrist) even moved to the States just to be with her, and they still are together.

Sim: if she's the right woman for you, then you want her with you at the party. If not, perhaps she's a bitch and you made a big mistake ;)

As to being on the computer all the time, yeah that won't work unless she's some kind of computer freak too and you chat to each other via irc :) Then again, you need some time on your own, and you need your own interests too, so you usually end up with some compromise, which is usually 'do all the chores, spend time together, if theres some time left go on the computer'.

Interesting to hear about 'Antichrist and the Sorceress' (I think that's the funniest name for a couple I've heard ;)
