The demo world must be profitable to continue its existence... discuss

category: general [glöplog]
@SS : You say it doesn't matter whether you code in Assembler or C++ when interacting with women? I'm shocked ! Please, tell me more !

By the way, you should come to Breakpoint, so you can explain your view on life, the demoscene and so on. That would be fascinating.

Coming in here, I figured that most people would have maturity and an ability to a) reason, b) discuss, and c) defend themselves like gentlemen

Wtf. this is pouet, we don't need to reason, discuss or even defend our selves as gentlemen.

It's alright Decipher, I'm pretty convinced that you're a virgin and a faggot so I'm not too offended.

You claim you are an English teacher. If so, I am disgusted by how such a biased and unconstitutional person can become someone who'll pass his own knowledge to his students not only in the field of English literature but also in the field of life in general.

Are you calling your students a virgin and a faggot when they don't deliver their homework on time too?

Also I know this will be getting as low as you are but your name doesn't sound all that Canadian; so if you're an immigrant I'd kindly suggest you to adopt the behavioral traits of the people of the country in which you are living. If your constitution bans discrimination based on gender, sexual orientation, language, race and nationality then you have to obey the law.

PS: I am not a virgin since I was 13.

please replace "students" with "sceners" and "homework" with "demos"
Oh by the way, alright is not a valid English written-language word. Just so you know, dear English teacher.

okkie: I find his fascination with lack of sex to be a pretty clear indication of a problem he's having and projecting through easy trolling. :)

We are sad because the scene is dead since 1995. It has been murdered by trolls like you.
We come on Pouët only to remember these epic times and makes offers to the Gods of the past consisting in demos.
Pouët is a church, and demoscene is a religion.
If you don't have the faith, you're missing 70% of scene spirit.

Seriously thinking, I believe you are a kind of blind fat child.
Some people do much more difficult things than demos not for money : Caring about poors, be a doctor in warzone, ...
Some people also collect stamps, tune their car, play the piano, build animals with matches, make demo on computers, make chiptunes, make needlepoint, make breakpoint, build styr radiocomanded planes,... not for money but pleasure and taste of challenge !

The world's possibilities of self realization is far wider than what you see staying behind your PC wathching 4chan porn and eating pizzas, Mr blind fat child.

this is why so many people take the piss out of panamericans on pouet - a disproportionate number of them believe that things are only worth doing if they make money.

Well, I can tell you for a fact that a lot of Panamericans are on the same wavelength as the Europeans are as it relates to the how the scene should be, but it's nice to know that the Europeans, feeling that they were born with some sort of 'authority' on the matter, feel free to judge anyone from across the pond without even knowing a thing about them.
Oh the irony… Just like you do with us?

It's funny how one can discuss without contributing anything. I would consider this thread dead.

Europeans did it first.

It's apparent that you know nothing about Euro-US scene-relations then.

I lost my interest in this, so this is now a Breakpoint anticipation thread!

Anyone else looking forward to the cocktail bar?

The (glorified) demoscene's authorities gain their authority don't by born place, but by demo-making.

And, well, we make demos mainly for two reasons:

1) Because we love demos.
2) Because we can do demos.

Eventually, of course, each one of us can love other things too (girls, boys, dogs, books, dancing, movies, money, sex, chastity, whatever) but we share one thing:

We love demos.

Oh! What I am doing? Talking to a troll! Ok. Just for this time.

I am! The cocktail bar is going to rock as usual! This year even more so, because I don't have any production (I'm retired... at least until I release another demo). Instead I'll be drunk in the beer-garden, talking non-stop about how awesome my demos are, and how dead the scene is. I encourage everyone to follow my example.

Decipher, did anything in my initial statement make you believe that I was saying you were a virgin and a faggot? No. Your subsequent behaviour is what set off the homoalarm.
