Come to Geekcamp 2009 (and register for it NOW)
category: general [glöplog]
Guys, you just can not afford to miss Geekcamp IV. This is the single most thrilling party experience you'll ever encounter.
Expect four days of pure joy, including:
- Will the mainorganizer (topy) arrive with the equipment at the location, driving a stone-age trabbi from Germany?
- Will the mainorganizer go bankrupt before, during or at the end of the party?
- How many weeks will it take the mainorganizer to get back from the location?
- Which visitors will take over organizing because everything is failing?
- Will the only way up to the location (a cable car) operate or be out of service because of winds?
- Will cows block the entrance?
- Will someone be able to repair the 70ies video projector using a soldering iron?
- Will anyone manage to find some toilet paper somewhere?
What you really can expect: Tons of boozing with friendly sceners high up in the swiss alps, with gigantic nice views, extremely thin air that will make alcohol abuse a whole new experience, and lots of fun.
So, register for Geekcamp now so it doesn't get cancelled, causing me not being able to enjoy the party once again ;)

Price is EUR 15,- and covers as much of the sweet creamy stuff as you can eat.
We will also offer from our kitchen:
-Noodles with meat sauce (if you prefer veggie style please tell us in advance)
-Pizza
-Baguette
-Steak (beef or pork) with potato and noodle salad as you wish (will be served according to your daily orders at the location, no need to order before the party)
-Various snacks like the famous Biberli cookies
Note: Breakfast is already included in the entry price, including scrambled eggs and bacon.
You will also be served:
-Tea & Coffee
-Beer (normal beer as well as the famous Appenzeller Hemp beer)
-GinTonic
-Vodka
-Coke and Limonade/Rivella
-IceTea
-Orange juice
-Mineral water
As you see, we won´t leave you hungry there =)
We would be happy if you make use of it so that we won´t be left bankrupt with a pile of uneaten food after the party - besides,
it is more yummy and convenient than carrying it to the location by yourself after having to cram it in and out the cable car as well.
+++ Arriving there +++
The cable car operates until 19:00 on thursday and 20:00 on friday. It´s the only way to get up there, thus make sure to arrive in time.
If anything happens or your tight in time, contact Topy at +49 176 75088568 as early as possible so that it can be fixed.
+++ Compo entries / remote entries +++
Expect memorizable compo prices which won´t be available at any other party!
Due to demand, we also allow remote entries:
Do you have an ANSI/ASCII or a Photo? Send it to topy@geekcamp.net or ts@geekcamp.net (preferrably both) until Wednesday, 7th, 4:00 PM.
Note that if there isn´t anyone to pick up the prize it will be given to the next competitor instead.
+++ T-Shirts +++
This time, there will be specially handcrafted shirts available at the partyplace. Surprise, surprise, it will be something different than the usual party shirts =D
+++ Entrance +++
Some of the registered visitors have chosen "bank transfer in advance" for a discounted price.
However, we did not receive as much payments as registered:
If you did not receive a confirmation that your payment has arrived after transferring it please contact us right now.

Oh, I thought that you allowed remote demos aswell.
Well, pitty.
Well, pitty.
Thanks to the organizers for this really great party. It's a shame that only such a low number of visitors showed up. You've missed a really unique event.
Tell us more about it, how many people came? Releases? Photos?
Not just you Scamp, you're busy, anyone who went.... :)

I think geekcamp was always a "1/3 organizers, 2/3 real visitors" type of event. ;)
