tracker for iPod Touch (lame platform, but I have a reason, see below)

category: general [glöplog]
learn to write music, then all you need is paper and pen :)

this topic has been discussed before - alas, only on my side with little to no response.
nice to finally see some more interest in this, even tho that semi-awesome "lame platform" attribute had to be pulled to seek attention. but it worked, thus i gotta go that way too! :)

farfar, for what it's worth - if there's anyone who could build something around your ideas, i'd be glad to be betatest the hell out of it. the ipod touch grew to be my pda of choice throughout the past few months, i'd really be glad to have anything tracker-like on that one.

noise.io and technobox are quite interesting things to fiddle with - but there's nothing like a tracker, eh. :)

**BarZoule: I studied piano for 11 years, and studied voice for two or so. I can read music. I even wrote it when I was too young to know any better. But I can't write that way, I'm not a real musician, and I'm sure as hell not a composer.
***farfar: why am I a prat?
mandatory debris on iphone screenshot.

farfar, you still interested?
nice idea but ... well not much more i guess :)

even if you had a tracker on such a limited platform (and i mean screen size here, disregarding it beeing an iphone, windows mobile device or anything else of that kind) i really doubt that anyone would really use it to create music, apart from the 2 or 3 test songs beeing created within the hype of having the possibility to do so.

but feel free to prove me wrong :)

gopher: I reckon you're wrong :) But it'd depend totally on the UI. Big fingers + small screen can kill a good app, but with the right ui it can also be amazingly powerful.

I wrote a few tunes on an old palm some years back with a basic music app. That was a similar sized screen, but with a stylus, and it was plenty of fun to use. With iphone you'd need bigger finger sized buttons, so you'd get less screen space, but with a good accelerated UI you'd just do some good tap to zoom, swipe to change tracks type stuff. I reckon a tracker would definitely be usable on it.

I think it's basically this, "oh shit I can't afford to buy one so I must beat the shit out of its users". That said, I don't get it either :/. Some of these people hate Apple even before they used any of the Apple products.
Umm. No? RDF. Maybe.
