Need Your help - contacts with some groups

category: general [glöplog]

As You probably remember - I am working on an article about the Best of Demoscene for year 2008 (online vote here). I asked many groups/people for their permission for publishing demos/intros and other releases on cover CD/DVD of CHIP by e-mail. But I didn't find contacts/get answers from following groups (first: name of release, second: group name, third: link, powet/csdb id):

So, what am I asking You (if You are the author or member of mentioned group) is to contact me (voyager@amiscena.org or bartlomiej.dramczyk@chip.pl) and give me permission for publishing Your demo/intro/music/wild....

if you want no problem with law , you have to contact each creator of each demo,
on paper , not by mail. each demos are their property, and can't be spread on a web site or whatever without such agreement.
this is , of course , the law , that's mean if you want to do it , its around 100 signatures you need , that's sound crazy but it's such price to be legal.

DQ: Thanx
inwalida: prosilem o zogody (mailami i innymi drogami) na publikacje prawie 70 produkcji, zostalo jeszcze 10 :)
24: the right answer is: it is impossible. "electronic" permission is the only way to contact authors of about 70 demos/intros/song/pictures. Of course I may write only some words about scene, withouth pictures and with no content on dvd - but this way who will read that?
Law is crazy - thinking this way we shoul have written permission for every demo shown on big screen during party.
This is the question about free culture and art (as I am thinking about demoscene), which in my opinion is much better than every aspect of modern art. Moreover - during latest demoscene show in Torun, Poland - particulary people who came to club to drink some beers were very impressed the demoscene story and the demos.

what's wrong with charging for actual work? it's not like compiling a DVD is just copying files.

I like to think that making demos, which are available for free, requires even more work

24: Even in 90' people copied demos for money. In the same era magazines bublished demos no coverd disks for money too. But.. the idea of publishing demos on CHIP's cover DVDs is not to eran money - let's say - huge publisher didnt' see a way to earn something by doing this - there are only two things well know for good sale: good headlines (just like in german Bild and polish Fakt, Bild's copy) amd of course more and more "full version", concluding: I am trying to publish demos nbot for money but just to promote scene. Ask Poles if You don't believe :)
BTW - which one garield?
