I really understand the passion, when most girls don't understand your geeky hobbies, suddenly you see the exception in front of your eyes (monitor). You instantly fall in love. You instantly write on the net something like "nowayy, a girl who can kode?" and stuff like that. You can't get away of the admiration because the scene really has quite few girls, some can't get away from not voting "thumbs up because she is a girl". I understand it and I understand that this attitude is hated by some scene girls but also loved by others.
I am not into the enthousiastic mood anymore. Some girls might think I was a stalker to them (and maybe I was), there was a lot of controversy about the female computer entities website I once started (I can't find it in internet wayback machine) and once I decided to close it. Maybe I smile when I discover that a nice demo I just watched has a girl in the credits, it's always nice but I don't let my enthousiasm burst (don't know if it's good or not). I forget the whole story and sometimes I am just being nostalgic of my first days in the scene where discovering a coding girl was a big thing for me.

Yep, the practical thing is to just be accepted or that she doesn't get too much angry with your strange hobby (because most of them would lesser or greater). But observing a girl who can code for the first time is some kind of a feeling that you get, before thinking logically. There are two different things. Today I don't care much as long as she gives me the kicks, I mean she has something on her that I really like (I have been pondering on girls that would be considered fat or ugly by my mates but I would still be hooked). But then I still look at new coding girls at times just for the nostalgy. It could be just additional bonus if this critiria was met too.
