Bobby McFerrin is a uniquely talented musician, but I prefer...

Another classic...

nirvana - smells like teen spirit

But when it comes to Nirvana I could reel off so many classic tracks.

And no "good music" thread would be valid without mentioning Mike Oldfield

ah, ps, this is the first time i really understood the purpose of banning... (apart from mr. magic of course :). So, please, do your duty.

to be ontopic, taking the risk that i'll have the stigma of being too popular, at the moment i'm listening to peaches. I would even recommend the long blondes.

oh, and lusine icl. most beautiful noise ambient i know about.

Krabob: Yeah, early Camel is awesome. Mystic Queen and the 3-part "epic" Nimrodel/The Procession/The White Rider are my favourites :)

I can't really recomend anything that I think the demoscene would approve, but try checking out Therion from different eras if you are into classical music or Metal. "Via Nocturna" is no less than awesome in my eyes.
Dream Theater also has an amazing musicianship. Opeth is (again, in my eyes) the best growls I've ever heard.
If you are into deep moody proggressive rock-influenced music, try Porcupine Tree.

And it goes without saying that Nine Inch Nails is good stuff too :)
Regarding my previous post: WARNING - PRODUCT PLACEMENT! I am Theiron's Fanclub's Leader! I am corrupt!
Therion*, bah.
Super Mario Galaxy's OST.

i dont see how thats remotely possible, someone in the demoscene will probably like it whatever it is you're afraid of mentioning...
