Capped - Flash Video for Demos

category: general [glöplog]
Uploads are Open!

File sizes up to 1 GB supported. Anything larger will likely be ignored and throw a random error.
URL uploads are processed by the submitting page, so it'll take a long while for that page to load. I was too lazy to make a seperate script to do it, probably will add that later.
Let me know if anyone has issues.

rarefluid - Capped supports random links at stuff to other pages [ie pouet, binary link, original video link, etc], plus you have to upload a preview image [it doesn't grab one from the video, which I perfer so you can get a cool screen shot instead of a random one]. So! I'd rather have people dedicate a bit of time when uploading. Expecially when encoding takes 10-20 minutes per video.

But maybe I'll sort through your collection myself and upload them myself. :)

+ - planning a fullscreen mode soon. ;P I have some experimental code working for that, will probably upload in the next few days along with several other improvements.

why do you need 'experimental code' for a fullscreen feature? Is like having a 'experimental code' for play and stop features.

Because it's mixed in with a lot of other changes to the UI right now, not all of which work.

The new UI and other updates are gonna be stalled due to "important" demo coding.

So I put full screen mode options into the context menu [right click].

Those embedding the player may need to update the embed code for full screen to work.

And some may notice I implimented full screen mode oddly, sorry about that, will be fixed with UI update. And yes, the UI update will have controls in full screen.

And once again, uploading is open. ;P

Why the occasional jerkiness?

excuse me please, but all urls inside the video-player are missing the last character.

hellfire - The encoder says that message when dns gives you the mirror server in the middle of the encoding. It'll still encode though. I'll get that fixed. Also, fixed the player urls now.

stefan - Do all videos do that? Some high frame-rate captures [60+] tend to be jerky on some machines. Not sure if there's anything I can do about that though.

Just wanted to point out that 640x480 would be *so* much nicer...

hellfire - I'm saving all uploaded videos so I can give people the option of higher resolutions later. :) Just wait till after breakpoint and such.

I temporarily gave up on my new UI for now. So I grabbed a popular one off the net and added in some small hacks.

Here's a preview:
Masagin - Nvision 08 Invitation

Hopefully that res will be suitable for those complaining ;) Will add more to it later.

micksam: I would say that the vidcap of Plastic's demo has a wrong aspect ratio :\

Hmm rewatched a bit: i.e. see the non "sphericity" of the snowflake

BB Image

It's a subtle distortion but it's present

Also: checking the video fil properties -> 1280x720, 16:9
on capped seems to be stretched at 4:3

it shouldn't be. It should add black bars on top and bottom. What flash version you using?
added on the 2008-03-26 05:00:35 by micksam7 micksam7
The last one (bp stream :)

In fact when there is only the shapshot in the beginning (before of pressing "play") the black bars are there, then for some reason they go away...
