EviL: I filled bug about max-width not being in display:table-cell element. It better be fixed in 9.5 because Fit to Width ( in the View toolbar by default, or Ctrl+F11, can give akward width to the table cells )

Dichotomy:
For example, if there is a concept A, and it is split into parts B and not-B, then the parts form a dichotomy: they are mutually exclusive... [en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dichotomy]
heh.. I wonder why they haven't fixed that browsercache bugnow that they have all these in depth bug reports.. Most of it is "help I'm thinking this software is really strange because when I browse facebook the screen is rather dark.. and there are images.. and if I use the brightness control on my monitor the screen goes dark.. pls fix."
There is also the weird gmail bug, when a chat window opens the screen goes black and sometimes it goes back to normal, sometimes it just stays black forever. I submitted the bug report to opera and gmail people but thats the only thing that grinds my gears.
I wonder why they don't fix their retarded interface soon.. "i think I'm smarter than the user. if he press the mouse-wheel down, he PROBABLY wants me to move his cursor to the middle of the screen. No mind what he's really doing." Well well, atleast they only spent ~6 months on fixing the bug with their tabs not really being tabs in the vanilla-window-skin i reported.
Opera is like Apple. They believe that by assuming their average user is plain stupid, they'll get a better product. Too bad they are right.

kusma: you have no idea how often WE complain about the UI, shortcuts, ... as for the tabs not looking like tabs, well maybe, just maybe that's because they aren't tabs at all. They are child windows. It's an MDI application, you can resize, tile, move around, ... your "tabs"
I like the interface :) as i said been using it since 2000 or something kinda used to it, the only interface problem is i cant press alt d to go to the adress bar.
But there is a quickdile feature with its shortcuts ctrl + 1- 9 which takes care of most of the need to go to the adress field.

Then why does the default Opera look promote that idea by making them look like tabs?
Also, I stopped feeling great about Opera the moment they decided to add 3d-scrollbar "CSS" support to their browser. This was somewhere in between one press release about Microsoft being poisonous for web standards and another about IE being a non-standards promoting piece of shit.
Pot meet Kettle :)
because tabs are hip.
You can disable 3d scrollbars. Preferences > Advanced > content > style options > [_] styling of scrollbars

alumuum: Reprogram yourself. Ctrl+L == Go to address field. Works in FF, works in Opera, almost works in IE.

I did that by choosing a browser that stuck more to it's principles. It's the lack of any reasonable justification to support that horseshit in the first place that eludes me.
Honestly, why did Opera jump the shark on this one? :)
Dunno. Maybe they got bored of receiving bug reports and seeing fanboys and web "masters" pissing on them for not supporting those beautiful scrollbars.
They never had any problem with people moaning at them for breaking their lovely IE5-only sites before, so that would be just plain weird.
However, if they fixed a "bug" for kusma, that would be tell-tale :)
