I'd like to share a prod but I'm not sure if it qualifies for Pouet
category: general [glöplog]
Hi. Any advice or suggestions on where I stand on this would be most appreciated as I don't won't to go ahead and submit anything and break any site rules. Cheers.
I've had an Atari ST 'demo' on a damaged floppy disc for years and have many times as a younger (and therefore a dumber) lad failed to make an image of it on a PC. I assumed it must have had a really complex disc structure / custom boot loader / whatever but it actually turned out to be really simple (a .prg and a bunch of files used by it). What was causing me the problems all along was because it's damaged.
Anyway, now that I finally have managed to make an image after all this time (it really wasn't hard and I should have made it much sooner) I'd like to share it with interested people out there; it's nothing mind-blowing and it's certainly not going to get many thumbs, far from it although it has a soft spot in my heart so I'd give it one if I could. Also because the disc is damaged I'm not sure if all the files are present although the disk is almost full (a clue is that the song played does not end in the right place).
The problem is that it's not by a group but is only credited by two guys. Does it therefore qualify to go up on the site? If not, is there a place that it should be submitted to and is this a regular occurrence and are there many other 'demos' of a similar nature that don't make it to these hallowed pages?
Like I've said any help would be much appreciated.
John.

yes
yeh, i assume adding it without a groupname would be sufficient. (and also doublechecking if it's not already there, so pouetsearch for the demo name)
MagikGimp: as long as there is no copyright infringement and that it seems somewhat demoscene related to you, go ahead and give it a try.
If it's not demoscene related, people will start to yell and complain (me in first line along with name calling and insults) and the prod will eventually get removed :)

MagikGimp: Just remembered this one I posted long ago: http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=12638
I have the feeling that the thing you want to post is very similar to that one, in which case it totally qualifies :)
