3D-support is pretty much the only thing I've missed so far, so good going Parallels. :) Looking forward to trying it out though -- no real use if demos don't run properly, right? :)

Okay, that's enough product pimpin' for today.

Ahhh great stuff. Demos are the only thing I use windows for these days (well, except at work) so this is excellent news. Now all I need is an intel mac.

3D support sounds like a nice feature, but it doesn't make the Intel GMA900 more powerful than it is (not).
Well, we at least will be able to run demos of 2000-2002 in a virtualized environment ;)

willbe: I have a Macbook Pro, so it's an ATI X1600 inside - not exactly state of the art, but most demos work fine with it in Windows (Boot Camp).

i was trying to install parallels on the macbookpro the other day but it refused to load the image of my pc os due to the hardware changes between the real machine and the emulated one.. need to leech a windows xp + sp2 iso image now to make it work (only have normal windows at home, and parallels wont accept it)

anyways, the point was, im also very eager to see if this parallels mambojambo actually works decently (for both sound and graphics). fuck demos, i just want to use jeskola buzz on my mac. :P

For audio applications, it really rocks.
I've made the latest demovibes with my usual Windows application (Magix audio studio) in a virtualized session.
I've tested a bunch of other apps like Rebirth, Renoise, Mad Tracker... that's doing very good.
I even used Winamp in this context for playing compo entries at Numerica. No glitch, very stable.
Bliss.

I have to second willbe there; Parallels have worked like a charm for me too. I actually finished the soundtrack for "Telos" in ACID, running in a virtualized session.

ps: Perhaps you can try to use Parallels with your Boot Camp-partition, that's what I do. Really ace to have the same files and programs when you boot into "true Windows mode" and when you are virtualizing.

i wanted to avoid creating a boot camp partition

ps: I guess you don't have to. I used my initial Parallels-installation back when there was no Boot Camp-support, and that also worked like a charm. I guess you just have to create a fresh install and not rely on being able to use an image of your old XP-install.
