is that robert deniro from the film 1900 ?

hehe of course the MS marketroism with the 'perfect' family and such makes the whole thing quite laughable but seriously i'm happy to *FINALLY* see some new generalist input controllers for masses after decades of keyboard+mouse / pad reign, the wiimote (40 euros) was a striking start :)

ok surface controllers prolly won't be "for masses" before a few years, but LCD have been democratized in what, only 5 years :)

wasn't the "definition" of a demo, that it's non-interactive?

You're more correct saying "interactive demos are unusual, and most demos are NOT interactive." The quotes around definition just don't do it (:
i wonder how sex on the dinnertable would be like if there's Vista underneath..

I guess it would be faster and more powerful, with more colors.

only that it wouldn't work because your driver is only 32bit.

"...just plug it in. It's gonna say, 'Hey! I see you've plugged in a new device', and it's gonna load in the appropriate drivers." "You'll notice that this scanner... whoa!" BSOD "... Moving right along..."

I love these multitouch sensor screens. For those who are bit late to pick up the technology I recommend doing a search for Jeff Han, or check out this presentation http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/65. I can't wait to throw out my keyboard, and mouse.

I think it's a cool product but way too expensive.

I worked at Smart tech a while ago - they made touch-sensitive whiteboards with projectors hooked up to them. So, this thing exactly, but larger, cheaper, and upright. We had a plasma screen thing that used cameras and shit to do the touch detection. Anyway, I tried playing starcraft on it once, with it laid flat on a table. Christ. My neck and shoulders felt like I'd been stabbed.

No,

Touch-sensitive whiteboards with projectors, while cool, are not exactly the same thing as big multi-touch screens.

stOPHER: at the beginning they prolly won't replace the reassuring feeling of keyboards to write lines and lines of text or code, even if that's just a habit problem :)

and uhuh, you still need a keyboard+mouse combo to play some leet Battlefield2 mod :>

a nice low-cost multitouch solution to experiment surface computing :)

Quite nice hack and more important: quite inexpensive.
