I don't get why people seem to think you can compare theft of physical objects to theft of intellectual properties...

i dont get why copy technology suddenly makes the principles involved so much different. Whenever i have taken that route it always comes back to "because i can". I can copy computer data, so somtimes i do. I cant copy ferraris, but i wish i could. But does it matter really? At the end of the day im taking possesion of something that were not up for grabs. And this is what musicians and other artists do all the time, and thank heavens, most musicians just like music and progression and think its fucking awsome, and then there are some who are very concerned about their "intellectual properties".

The norwegian channel NRK aired a program about C64, GRG and the Timbaland thing. And also interview with Next Life(With Duckhunter/spaceballs). The program is in Norwegian, not subtitled.
Funny watching for scandinavians :)

A bit off topic.

If you could copy a Ferrari then it would be all right in my book. Nobody loses anything when you make a copy, except for some kind of imaginary monetary transaction that the IP owner argues would have taken place "had things worked differently". Well here's your wake up call: It doesn't, you can't argue from fictional sales numbers, better adjust to reality and change your business model and stop trying to sell things that can be copied for free -- it's never been a good idea, Adam Smith would have concurred. You've got to make the purchase worth it.

Or, you could work really hard to get the wonderfully useful technology to make copies for free restricted and/or banned. Can't allow something immensely beneficial to the human race if it diminishes your income, can you?

I'm pretty sure that if a Ferrari-copying machine was invented, Ferrari would start acting like an IP-company, suing anyone who copied one.

This video is keeping me busy (read my comment, I'm moejoe1337):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sL-OXXXjs_I

"A song designed especially for it, in modplug tracker."
"Song: Don't Live Here"

Facts:
- This module has been uploaded to ModArchive in 1999: prove
- ModPlug wasn't spread widely at that time. The file version of this IT file is 2.14. Modplug, however, saves IT modules with file version 2.00.
- The Module is entitled "Imposter", not "Don't Live Here"

A big liar?
I know nothing about this, but it's for sure the same tune. But if that Keefer guy is really 21 as it states in youtube, then I don't believe he made that tune in 1999 (being 12).

We're hunting amateurs now? Dude, people have been 'lending' music since the start of the demoscene. Not that it's kosher, but it's not worth making a big deal out of it imho.

well put. in these cases, music was not "lended" but reused under their own name. just like Jay back then!
dlz: It happened to me as well, a while ago with one of my happy hardcore tracks. It pissed me off, but not so badly to go burn down the internet.

Fair enough, I understand why things like this tick people off. But in my opinion, it's not worth it to hunt down every single guy that ripped of some mod for a stupid youtube video.

I now see that that Axel F guy actually really pretends he made it and didn't use it for some stupid fan video, like the Gundam guy. That is thoroughly lame, granted. Fuck him.

@Saga_musix: Did you check the info to go with that youtube video?
It says:
Song: Imposter by Anubis
Anime: Gundam Wing & Endless Waltz
Editing/Timing: Christopher Keefer

So he makes no claim on having done the music himself (or am i missing sth). Clearly this guy shows off what he can do in Quicktime Pro (ohwell) and only claims that.

Sander: I'm pretty sure it didn't mention anything about Imposter by Anubis when I checked it the first time.
