And also, if your graphic was pixellated you will have x2 points, and the same with tracked music.
Excellent idea. This way I could easily beat mfx, fr og flt by releasing some shit I open-sourced with graphics made in mspaint and 5 minutes of sloppy tracking.
Boy, will their faces be red when they realize they focused on the quality of the production instead of using obsolete tools and giving away their code to any 2 bit hack on the internet.
Hey, if ends up in this way, changing that will take minutes. Thanks for the advice.
Why bother with votes at all if you are going to change the results later on?
I won't be organising it. Don't worry.
i do remember #pixel 30m compo (i organized a few even), and look what happened to them, they stopped. they were fun for a while though, i give you that. and also fun when we do the ocasional comeback, even though alot less people participate. my theory is that 5 years ago idling on irc was the main activity when beeing online, anything creative to escape it would be fun, nowdays people are online all the time, most of it dont even bother going to irc, or when they do they are idling there and doing some other activity elsewhere, so they dont really care much about channel activities so to speak. but well, if there is interest from the spanish scene to do these compos then by all means do them, as long as people are having fun doing creative stuff it's all good i guess.
yeah, lets cross fingers! however, it doesn't need IRC, it's web-based.
Well, it's not meant to be a demo competition, but a code/music/graphic competition held at the same time. My first idea was to organize a code only competition, as the ones that proved to be quite succesful years ago on a well known spanish coding portal. Even one well known 64k came from some experiments first shown in one of those compos.
Anyway, as I said, my first idea was meant to be held on the spanish #demoscene IRC channel, and focused on the few lazy coders that gather there.
It proved to be succesful not that much ago, we'll see if we get the same results. So, if you don't know spanish, why care about it? It's meant to be fun, not to create "art": let's keep our art alike prods for partys XD

No, better release it at a party, were you can get namevoting for some worthless shit. Or even better, release on a party and then screw vote system on purpose. Yep, that's really the way to go, how clueless I am :P
I think talking about it and what would happen is useless... just do it and see what happens :)
