covering the classics - good or bad?

i go "wow!" the 100th time i hear a version of a rob hubbard tune. especially when it's YM-2149 and some sounds come out like farts squeezed through an asshole that has been cemeted shut with crazy glue.
in fact, i really do. need more hubbard to cover.
