Wow! Sky News got owned!

category: general [glöplog]
I just had to share this. It's very eye opening and great to hear someone call out newscasters on their propoganda.

ooooh sounds like the start of a flamewar on any page that hosts the video and allows the viewers to post comments.

Personally, I choose to remain neutral on the subject due to an obvious bias towards one side or the other everywhere I have seen or heard news about the conflict.

I commend the man reporter for being so persistent against Sky News, and the lady reporter for being so patient and not exploding on air.

noouch, the man isn't a reporter, he's a politician with "controversial" views (he recently said that the assasination of Tony Blair would be justified because of the Iraq war)
Eh, wasn't paying too much attention. I must say his views are a bit extreme, although it can almost be called a healthy balance to the bullshit Sky, CNN, FOX, etc. are feeding people.

So glad I don't watch that kind of shit any more.

israel and usa suck much

israel invades and uses its army in remembrance of the shoa (seems that this ugly page of the history serves as their universal excuse for all the bad they're doing for 20 years)

usa armed iran against irak and now they're shitting in their pants because iran is willing to get the nuclear bomb
also they invaded irak in the name of a war against terrorism but the truth is that they had to use shitloads of ammo to keep their industry up, and they also needed oil

it's a really sad world and in the end i rather agree with this gergoes gallaway man: journalists don't have a clue and the way they talk about all this mess is clearly pro israel and pro usa
^^

why do we all listen to news about politics so far? do we really have to?

fuck this is kinda perpetuum mobile. concentrate on your own, be an egoist.

holy crap....

Nouch/Parapete: Although you seem to think this guy is controversial/extreme, everything he says in this interview is right on the spot.

I suggest you start reading The Great War for Civilisation: The Conquest of the Middle East by Robert Fisk, an English journalist who witnessed almost every conflict in the Middle East in the last 3 decades. I just finished this book and it's recommended reading for anyone who wants to understand the Middle East and the things going on there (for as far as that is possible).

All what you guys said is interesting, but where are the photos of his daughter? She's still in "cute age", we have to act fast!
256: usa did not arm Iran against Iraq, it was the other way around.

i expect that will go up on telemate.tv
this is a point ive been making for years..about the mainstream media... ultimately they are controlled by the business and money that keeps them afloat
and that is why the twin towers were targeted

the thing that gets me about the news is that when there is a solution nobody is interested and nobody mentions it
solutions to problems often arent newsworthy??

i fuckin hate this place

You call the shoa only a "page of history" - that reminds me of a fellow countrymen of yours, Jean-Marie Le Pen. I've read that he has said a similar thing about the shoa (AFAIK he called it "a detail of history"). Are you a supporter of the Front National?

hopefully Adok we don't know each other otherwise you would know that i'm not racist nor facist nor anti-semite.

i just state that it gives them an excuse at all levels: from school where jewish students don't want to mix with muslim ones (also muslims don't want to mix with jewish) to the war between israel and liban

also don't play with the words... you should have noticed that i said "ugly page of the history" and not "fancy insignificant detail"

adok, you're really disappointig me. your IQ was supposed to be high enough to fully understand all my sentences entirely. however other bbs threads pointed that you have no clue at all.

hopefiully jean marie lepen is not president yet and most of the country will do what's necessary so that it never happens as we did in 2002

in the end, to make it clear, i would like to recap. i think that somehow georges gallaway is right when he says that the occidental world consider that hezbolah is a bunch of barbarian terrorists while israel and usa are the great defenders of the peace in the world
sparcus: yeah sorry, i often make the confusion :/ of who armed who. anyway it's sad to realize that they arm states to lead them to revolution or civil war and then pretend they are the defenders of peace in the world :)

Yeah, you're probably right. I don't know enough about the subject to comment really :) I said he was controversial though because that's how he's percieved by most people here, because he's not afraid to speak his mind and argue a point fervently (like in the video!). I do know one thing for sure though - he pretended to be a cat on Celebrity Big Brother!
here is another 911 whose 100th anniversary should be celebrated by medias as much :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahatma_Gandhi

"In 1906, the Transvaal government promulgated a new Act compelling registration of the colony's Indian population. At a mass protest meeting held in Johannesburg on 11th September that year, Gandhi adopted his methodology of satyagraha (devotion to the truth), or non-violent protest, for the first time, calling on his fellow Indians to defy the new law and suffer the punishments for doing so, rather than resist through violent means."

this is considered as the official birthdate of a fundamentally humanist, progressive and rebel concept called Civil Disobedience : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disobedience

People shouldn't forget it either, specially since 2001 :/
