Evoke 2006: The LinuxDemos.org Challenge
category: general [glöplog]
For those eagerly waiting to release your demos and intros on this years Evoke 2006 (08/11 - 08/13, Cologne, Germany), I have a small surprise. This year, Evoke and LinuxDemos.org will be supporting demo development on Linux by donating additional prize money for the highest placed Linux entry in the demo/64K intro/4K intro section. Who said communism is not about money? The penguin will make you filthy rich!*

Fuck Linux! This is 2006 and we all run Windows!
I recall how Dreamcast-scene had quite a boon with a similar scheme. Good luck though :)

with the exception of this os being a community project. there is actually no way around it, the question is when the time is right. it is not going to improve if nobody is going to do something about it.
Exception? And what do you call this then? A Enterpise License for Beowulf Clusters?
Interesting how the compo machine specs differ. If you want Shader Model 3, you HAVE to use Linux. :)
but you don't need shader model 3 anyway so that's no problem.

Hey, six Dreamcast demos since our activites as well as one Diskmag. That's pretty "okay" for a so-called "dead platform". ;)
