MAC OS X Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,
well, I've been hacked or ... I can't boot into my MAC OS X install anymore: it hanged 30 seconds after I login. Now I've tried to reinstall OS X and found out after hours that my 2nd DVD of OS X 10.4 is dead (just when it tries to install the latest program called iweb...). I've rebooted, said him "don't install anything but the system" and it still continues to install the whole ilife suite. I'm currently writing this message using my bootcamp partition (XP isn't so bad on the end). Sadly I want to get back my datas but I find no program to transfer all my files from my HFS+ partition to my XP partition where I would like to burn files to a DVD.
Is there anybody there who can help? I'm using an Imac Intel 1,83GHz and the crash appears after I installed the latest security patches (don't know if it's related, but before I start all that repair operation, it runs in fail safe mode: yes I know I'm stupid, I should have saved my files then, ... Too late). I'm looking for a free program to transfer files of any size from HFS+ to FAT32 partition running under XP.

I've had mine a year now, so I'd hardly consider myself a 1337 user, but I've managed to somehow avoid hurting it in that time ;-)

I install tons of programs: I always love testing, hacking, fiddling, fine tuning stuff. But there I think the update have killed it: it was running yesterday night before I do the update and this morning when I've switched it on, I get the system blocked 15 secs after login. I'm now burning my datas on a DVD then I'll reformat and reinstall the whole system without all those patches, haxies and stuff like that (that's why Amiga OS is dead and why XP is buggy: too much shits running at the same time). Of course a real hacker can boot in single mode and fix everything finger in the noise but I admit, I've to learn lot of things about *nix and MAC OS X but reinstalling, finding where the bugs come from and so on is really interesting. But you're supposed to own a Falcon 030? Don't you?
If you love installing tons of programs, why don't you do that on a test computer which you can reformat every 10 minutes? Even better: Why don't you do it on a virtual machine? (like VirtualPC or VMWare)

yeah. drop that buggy mac. you'll just get alot of crashes,reboots and reinstalls. install windows and be safe!

Yes I do, two of those in fact. If you're splitting hairs, then one of them is really a Falcon 060 :-)
I've also got a Mac Mini, as it doesn't take up much extra space, and does the whole modern broadband internet thing a lot easier. I've also got a couple of Acorn Risc machines currently living in the basement, and an old Compaq Presario peecee for running a couple of emulators that the Mac doesn't have.

I love risk and I can afford it: I make backups just before crashs!
And when everything goes down, I've plenty of killing tools to get back my datas. Whatever I don't care because even if I loose the datas, I've copy held on somebody hardrives. But yes, I've to became sage and wise so do more stuff than just tuning all those lame OSes all the time.
Whatever, MAC OS X is good and XP is good too, but they are also both bad: never seen such a responsive system as Amiga OS was. But Amiga OS was really sensitive and bugged so often (just write a byte where it mustn't go and enjoy the Guru). Perhaps I should install a Linux and get rid of all those lamers OS because Unix is the real kingdom of OSes: less crap, far more efficient and really interesting. On the other hand, Unix is quite long to learn and to master... So there is no perfect solution but I really think nowadays all those OSes lack something: user friendlyness, I mean they are not ergonomic, we loose lots of time hacking here and there instead of beeing productive. I dream of a system with less, less options, less sophisticated things but I must also change my way of thinking and acting, became simpler and more efficient myself.
Whatever I've succeeded in saving my datas and now the OS is reinstalled. Will try to make it less dirty this time: no more patches and rubbish stuff like haxies and soft like that on my HD.
