I'm sceptical towards representative democracy in the first place, but I cannot see any solution that cannot be cheated with that allows for everybody to participate in their democracy on an equal basis. It would cut the lobbyism, but not remove the privately owned media's influence on large masses of people. but it would cut the lobbyism....so....
At this point in time, I personally feel that democracy has gone the way of all previous isms. And I feel forced to rename it, democratism. It looks good on paper, but in reality it is just too shallow and flimsy, and will be overtaken by greed, plutocracy and killed by the hand of public indifference as is happening as we speak.

Democracy is always as good as the people living in it.
I support democracy. It's the only form of government that tries to implement nature's evolution into a cultural evolution and the only form of government that aknowledges that people do mistakes and need a form of correction and oversight. Without democracy there is no culture of enlightenment.
