hmm... I just tried to find a quick end for this discussion but I failed :)
ofcourse I tried to paint a black/white picture for something that is definately a "gray" situation. there are people with an a-education but wrong minded.
nevertheless, its not GUILT we feel for the second world war coz we dont feel responsible for it but with such a history in the back you JUST have a quite different look at the things happening in our world.
and ofcourse we declare somebody a nerd handling with any stuff about fascism coz we KNOW what hell it all can break lose. our country just MADE the mistake we hope others wont repeat in any similar form. and look at our world: its all happening again, everyday, somewhere... that is soooo sad.

Speaking about scene always meant international scene for me.
So this thread became redundant after adding the fascism content.
But to give my humble opinion even to a audience ;-) :
Faschism means the disrespect of people because of their origin or their appearance. As inhuman bahaviour against others are included in this ideology thats the reason something like this can´t be accepted.
Fun about Adolf Hitler and faschism is accepteble, yes, but as humor is a method to exaggerate something to a point where it is funny,often because it hurts a wound point in the audience, it is double-bladed sword. It is a small path between fun and tastelessness.
So if you make fun about fascism to reduce or to reveal the idiotic idea behind it ist is fun. If you use fascism to make a joke to reduce someone or something else with it, it isn´t funny at all.
If you grow up in germany, you will grow up with the history of the last war and the crimes of the NS-Regime. It is part of the german everyday life. Not so close that you talk really everyday about it, but it is there. Because of that history it is, that if someone compares something with fascism or the nazis or make jokes about it, he will be judged in germany far more than in any other country.
Nothing in germany can undo what happend before 1945. It is a guilt which ask for a reliability. Many german keep it in mind.
Of course, not all, as there are fascist in germany as well as in many countries around the globe. There are always some people searching for an easy excuse for hate and solutions for their lives, and some others who are searching for power, willingly to lead the first kind for their own aims.
