I knew this would be the 1st thing created in the creature creator, it's just so obvious. I can just imagine this sneaking into the creatore pool when the game goes live, and some young girl getting it downloaded onto her machine and have a planet of fly penis'.

You know now you've said that the race is on to create him :) the trial version has limited texturing capabilities, so i think grey is the closest you could get :)

I talked to the guy who designed / programmed the creature editor a week ago. They didn't specifically look at techniques that are used in the demoscene nor were there any demosceners working on it. The 'inspiration' that they got from the demoscene was merely that there was an option to generate geometry and skeletal meshes procedurally. Anyway, I think the creature editor is a really neat tool.

Did you ask him what he thought about all the penis creatures?

it kinda looked like they use marching cubes for the body though.

Marching cubes is a procedure isn't it?

sure, just found it interesting that they took that way instead of FFD+CSG.

It probably looks more organic using fields.

Gargaj: what makes you so sure they did? I don't think it looks like marching cubes at all. Moving an arm doesn't change tessellation other places than in the stitch between it and whatever it's connected to, for one.
