MadenMann: As a citizen of the UK who holds a European Passport, I consider you to be wrong. Oh so wrong. Incredibly wrong. Wrongfully wrong.

But hey -- be strong, be wrong!
OMG I can't believe you Gargaj... I was hoping no one would ever see my awful coder art...

Every damn time I look at Guybrush's rendition of Legalize I'm reminded of that highschool gym teacher from Beavis and Butthead.

Hmm. I can't find any good pictures to illustrate my case.

But I think you'll all agree, this is a terrific page!

Gargaj: Glad ya liked it ^_^ hopefully Legalize is still full to the brim full of hate next year, and I'll be motivated to do another pic.

adok,

It's wonderful that you are contributing to Wikipedia. You should consider making future edits under a registered account, should a rogue group of wiki-admins consider your entries to be non-notable and non-encyclopedic. (!)

Heh, looks like Spinsane is going bye-bye, but there is still hope for the others. Please don't bother voting if you've never used Wikipedia before as it doesn't help this cause.

now that the thread is unsuccesfully pouetized i can provide a few overly critical cents that are hopefully going to piss off everyone:

i don't care much about radmans view of the scene. if it has anywhere near as little npov as mine, i'd keep it hell out of wikipedia.
i don't like polluting wikipedia with every worthless demogroup around (e.g. mfx) even if the stuff was factual.
and finally, i absolutely despise the fucking nazis whose attitude spells out that everything done behind pseudonyms is not worthy of documenting and idiots who disregard well reasoned arguments as being made by "sock puppets".

Some revising has been done and I have much more supplemental information on the way. I hope everyone agrees that the general concept of a diskmag is encyclopedic, atleast in the wikipedia "bytes are cheap" sense.

MFX is a demogroup i'd actually like to see a wikipedia entry about :D

radman1:
Thank you for editing the post and polishing up the language. I do think that the general concept of a diskmag is encyclopedic. I'll see to it that I register before (if) I post anything else to Wikipedia.

Adok, the general concept is worth it, but please avoid adding the mags itself like RaD Man has done it with some demoscene related stuff.

RaD Man: I've seen your thumb for a very popular demo, which has won a big Europen party this year. This shows me, you're a good man. :)
Which demo? :)

Why don't you look it up on wikipedia.org

and stick to ANSI.

i actually just had a look at some demoscene related stuff in wikipedia and i'm completely stupified by the amount of entries that are just plain bad. either too vague, too short-sighted, or too incorrect. the equation just doesn't work: "designed to be read and edited by anyone" + "ignorant fuckwits" = hopelessness.

it's especially astonishing because an encyclopedia is supposed to be factual. i'm quite sure certain people tend to post their beliefs around the web because they think it's the absolute truth, and that's fine by me - it may piss me off at times, but i can't be bothered to prove them wrong or whatever. everyone's got a right to express opinions but come on, it's an encyclopedia.

rant over. it wasn't targeted at anyone in particular btw, i didn't check who made the entries.

1. fix it yourself
2. give a list and we'll fix it

Actually I'm a bit surprised/shocked at the fact that it seems that everybody can edit anybody's postings to Wikipedia anytime. Isn't this too easy to abuse?
