Which country has the best gfx-artists?

Personally I like alot of the art from Poland. Poland has given me the impression of being artfull for my taste. Dunno why but, maybe its the use of the colours?. What style do you like?
I never thought of gfx style as something belonging to any particular geographical area. But this is just because I don't know shit about drawn art and I like whatever has tits or dragons or sportscars

Well, some of my favorite non-scene artists are Japanese.
Scene-wise, I'd pretty much have to agree with Patrick.

(but the French scene is dead now, 99% of the graphicians have stopped their demoscene activity, they did not come into demoparties anymore)

indeed, france has a good history of seriously good artists, scene included. I've seen a lot of great stuff from poland too, but i just can't imagine why poland would have a lot of great artists. Probably i'm just not aware of polish culture enough :)

but i must say, who draws the best graphics might be one thing, but the people who really make a diffrence are the designers! most of those guys do make graphics too, but without them demos would be alot uglier .. just imagine a tbldemo designed by coders.. it's time they got celebrated aswell!

maybe instead of which country has the best gfx artists, we had better split it into designers and artists, cause there is a big difference. I'd say france was a good country for artists, spain for designers. Poland is perhaps between the two, but tending towards the art side. England? No idea actually :D
Oh yes, and sweden is a shiny balls country ;)
