What you want out of your scene radios
category: general [glöplog]
Hello, fellow sceners
I'm trying to figure out how to create a better support for my station's demo scene coverage. My question for you is what you value when you listen to any demo scene stream from any and all of the stations. I think about audio streaming radio stations (like Nectarine, Slay, Hypr, Ericade, Kohina, SceneSat and CVGM to name a few).
Is it just the signal?
When you tune in to your favorite station, do you just turn it on and the minimize the web browser and go on with what you're doing on your computer? Is it important for you to see the name and the artist? Do you value being able to comment, set stars and make requests?
Are any of those features something you care about? :
- Able to see information about the song (when released, at what demo party, when it was added, some interesting facts about it, its rating)
- Able to se more about the artist? (ratings, information, group membership)
- Ability to request your favorite tunes?
- Ability to set start to tunes?
- Ability to add comments about tunes and/or artists.
- Able to listen on the mobile phone without problems.
What's your poison?
- Old Amiga 4-channel tracker music.
- Impulsetracker
- Fasttracker
- Sidtunes
- Remixes
- Demo scene music
- Modern electronic stuff as found on Bandcamp
- Live coverage from demo scene events?
- Interviews with other demo sceners?
I really value all input. Please tell me what makes you tune into the sounds of the demo scene.
Regards, DJ Daemon
