ROMA.EXE 2026 | 20-21 june | Rome, Italy

category: parties [glöplog]

ROMA.EXE may not be the southernmost party ever, but we are working hard to make it a great event.

The last party in Italy was 19 years ago (yes, this is true), so maybe enough time has passed to reset the counter and make another one.

We released not one but three different invitations on three platforms (C64, Amigaaah and PC), which you can find on the party page here on Pouet or on Demozoo.

Even if you all the needed info is on our website, here is a brief recap of what the party will feature (all of this is included in the base ticket):

  • Lots of compos (ASCII/ANSI/PETSCII, Pixel art, Game, Tracked music, C64 demo, Amiga demo, PC 4k and PC demo)
  • By popular demand, a <=256 bytes compo on almost any platform, real and fantasy
  • Three seminars ("Deluxe Paint" by LRNZ, "C65 history" by Carlo Pastore, "The early years of game development in Italy" by Fabrizio Farenga/frk)
  • Three concerts (Master Boot Record, Arottenbit and the Gom Jabbar duo)
  • A DJ set after the live concert
  • Sleeping and shower areas (available Friday to Sunday)

The day before (Friday), we are also organizing the “Rome experience”, a guided tour of the city with wine tasting, and a final dinner (this will have a separate cost, but participation is not mandatory).

Remote entries are also accepted, and our party system will be available shortly. You don’t need to buy a ticket to participate remotely, but please consider coming to the party!

On the safety side, we don’t expect issues but we want to do our best to guarantee that everyone feels safe and protected and included at the event, so there will be a security service at the party place and the organizers will check that everybody is fine for the whole duration of the event.

The orgas (Razdee/TRSI, epr, MBR, frk and friol) are waiting for you at ROMA.EXE 🔥 so get your tickets if you want!

If you need any additional info, don’t hesitate to write here or at info@roma-exe.com.

A quick update on ROMA.EXE.

We have published the specs for the PC Compo Machine, which is a quite powerful i9 with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 (see the rules page for a full description). It should be able to handle the most complex effects, even those with >4096 shadebobs.

Also, the party system is up, so you can buy a ticket, get a votekey and submit you entry whenever you want (before the deadline, possibly). If you want to submit something remotely, this is free; just contact us here, on Discord or at the info@roma-exe.com address.

Last but not least, we started sending the votekeys and a survey to all those that already bought a ticket. Be sure to answer the email and help us organizing for the extra activities on friday, for the logistics and for the perks that, depending on ticket type, are included.

This is the first edition of ROMA.EXE (and the first Italian demoparty after 19 years, as said).
The entries you decide to bring can help our party grow!
Thanks!
