ZX Spectrum next kickstarter 3
category: general [glöplog]
So the kickstarter 3 for spectrum next is live: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/spectrumnext/zx-spectrum-next-issue-3-0 and met the minimal funding goal in something like 7 minutes.
There's some talk that this might be the last one, but who knows. I've made my "last" textmode demo three times now.
They tried to make it more appealing for various people this time, with bare boards being an option again, and on the higher end there's a transparent (purple) case. And a bunch of goodies like a c64 core (of all things..)

Will they be available to order separately from the Kickstarter campaign? In other words I would possibly like to buy one but after they have been manufactured, packaged, distributed, etc.
Nope. The parts are bought from the funds in the kickstarter.
A handful that are manufactured for RMA purposes are sold directly after the dust has settled, but those always sell in, like, 20 seconds.
There's always some on ebay if you're willing to pay 2x-5x, though. Another option is to look at the 100% compatible clones (like n-go) that are pretty much always available, but don't come with the pretty case.

Looks like it has multicore support like the mister and mega65

Always has been, but this time it's a much bigger fpga so if someone wants to play around with it... it's the best version of specnext for such.
One week to go.
