category: general [glöplog]
I don't know, I always get to wonder how genious some coders are on the scene. I personally defo need them for my own amusement ;)

The replacability of coders becomes more obvious than ever - nowadays most demos are only spread in the form of .avi files. So why do you even code an .exe? It will not take long until people notice this profound truth.

It actually shows the reverse - it shows that you need a good coder otherwise you'll be only able to spread the .avi version for a while (hi bonzaj! :DD )

Fun part is that good coder like chaos/farbrushc make tool that make himself obsolete ! LoL
that is pity coz all new FB demo will be not having new code ,no new code,no new effect ....

Obsolete was a freaking great album.
Coders make dreams.
Designers dream.

i personally like the job of a coder, especially the part when your written tools work.

The coders are dying! Or not. In reply to the thread's topic; no, I don't think so.
I think you creative people should quit work and school and focus 100% on the final breakthrough for your bands.

Its time to bring this serious discussion back. Did coders becomes more obsolete during the last year? I very much think so.

I think quite the contrary actually.

I think the impression might come up as the number of really good coders doesn't grow as much (if at all) as the number of other "demosceners" working on gfx, music, design, whateverstuff. In the old days, if you weren't a good coder, no matter how good your gfx/music people were, you could go home since Q-Basic sucked!

I'm with gargaj. Just watch the "usual" old stuff(as in 80's or 90's) and you'll see why :)

I think all coders should take a month off to answer this thread.
