Programming tipps for children wanted
category: code [glöplog]
skrebbel : good point : actually STV / SYNERJ did some master classes for us ( 4 sessions) + my kid speaks english much better than I as he spent 6 years in UK and US.
ah! nice :-) thanks for the background. my kids like scratch (and i heartily recommend Scratch Jr for younger kids - it's a mobile app but there's also an open source desktop port on GitHub) and I was thinking Processing might be a nice way to ease them into text-based programming.
I had hoped you'd say something along the lines of "oh! but there's tutorial videos in 20 languages on $SITE! ^_^" but alas, looks like I gotta play teacher myself :)

+1 for Scratch and Pico8
I use both in the Code Club I run with children aged 8-11.
Scratch is great to think at a much higher level.
Pico8 has a small API and this cool pixel art + chip sound vibe that hits a cord with the kids ( young and old )
