Logic X Setup For Edits

<—BUSX<—
means that the channel is sidechained to BUSX
—>BUX—>
means it is the master of that sidechain
every compressor (except first one on channel 8 and the one on 9) is sidechain compressor.
DirMix is always set to 2.0
Eq is set to cover 3 bands: 0-250, 500-4000, 7500-max (Q is always 0.5)
developed this during around 9 years of testing. about everything is possible with this setup.
i add channels and busses depending what is needed like busses for different reverbs, instrument channels and vocals but this is the basic setup i start with..and usually work with without altering it.
Thanks 1in10, copied for homework \o/
maybe some further explanation is needed on the compressor settings and what channels 8 and 9 are for.
sidechain compressors are set to fast attack and release with -15db gain reduction(more or less if needed. this is the default tho).
channels 8 and 9 are for situations when the bass of the original material is weak (or as effect) and needs boosting. that is why the channels are -12db in volume to compensate the boosting(changed to fine tune if needed).
the turned off reverbs are there to test things fast but i usually opt out for bus reverbs.
but it is rare that i even use reverb as using audio tails is more controllable.
i think that is all. if questions i try to answer.
