Help ID:ing a couple of SIDs

category: music [glöplog]

I've got these shitty recordings of a couple of SIDs that I don't know the title and artist for:

Song 1
Song 2

I'm hoping that one of the HVSCophiles out there will be able to ID these.

Also, try the SID theme search engine by lft.
Alas, I don't have perfect pitch, so I wouldn't be able to tell the melody if my life depended on it.

Wow, thanks for the link, Saga. Didn't know this searching engine.

And it seems to work really good - I've just managed to ID the first song.

Great id work by jazzcat! :)

mic: Neither do I, in fact most people don't. Still, you can write down a melody by trial and error with relative pitch as well. For example, you can try playing it very slowly and then try ot play a couple of notes on a keyboard at the same time to figure out which of the notes is the correct one. I personally always have a reference note (C) in my head and try figuring out the interval from C to the unknown note in my head.
Awesome, thanks. I guess I should've recognized the FIG tune since I like Rock's stuff and have listened to most of it at one point or another. But I would never have found the first one, without exhaustively listening through the entire HVSC that is.
