Guys, come on, looks to me like some academic folks with demoscene roots wants to make small party in US - it's cool idea, no?
Ideas are easy, but the execution on this feels sloppy.
Gargaj: it's fair, but it looks to me that you will get exactly how it looks - small relaxed party on "outskirts" of Siggraph - some Ballroom-B, probably not that small, but still, it's "B" not "A" lol, with free beer and pizza and some academic geeks using potentially quite big projectors to show some 64k's. It still sounds cool to me, I wish I would attend this year, but well...

Yeah, I saw the 'any platform' part on the site, but seems a bit confusing/vague. There's only 3 official categories on the site (4k, 64k and "Web or Mobile") + the khronos api restriction. So sounds like a PC Demo using D3D11 would either end up in wild or disqualified (neither of which sounds fun :P).
Either way, I don't really care that much. I was maybe planning on going to siggraph so was a bit curious. Probably not enough time for a decent demo anyway.
