recently when hearing "CUDA cores" spoken my mind immediately went to pouet's "coup de coeurs". are these indeed pronounced the same? is this some kind of global conspiracy?
almost! the french word 'coeurs' (hearts) is pronounced like 'curse' rather than 'cores' ;)

so it is pretty close to cuda core!! yep i bet nvidia named it after coup de coeurs then. perhaps to subliminally influence demosceners to prefer their platform. VERY SMART
