What is your Dixan Number?

category: residue [glöplog]

Dixan (old enough and still rockin') is an influential musician who spent a large portion of his life writing music with a large number of colleagues, working on outstanding releases.

Quote:
The Dixan number describes the "collaborative distance" between a person and musican Dixan, as measured by authorship of demoscene productions.
To be assigned a Dixan number, someone must be a coauthor of a production with another person who has a finite Dixan number. Dixan has a Dixan number of zero. Anybody else's Dixan number is k+1 where k is the lowest Dixan number of any coauthor.

I just realised mine is 1

I suppose this has to do with the "seven degrees of separation" theory..

Mine is 3 (C-Jeff in Inferno Guide #5, el-bee in BitJam Vol. 1.1, Dixan in Fermion).
1. I was writing code for a fast intro at The Trip 1999, and he was writing code too, customizing Pan's raytracing engine. So it's 1 with Dixan as a coder.

Mine is also 1, if it counts that he did some finishing touches on the music our intro "out of order"

According to styx, mine must be at most three, with red making music for Styx' prods and me working with red on multiple prods. My erdős-dixian-number would be 8.

the_YeTi is right. It is common among mathematicians to boast with their Erdös number.
