I'm sure most of this has been said already.

1. You can click on the logo and it takes about 1 second for the site to produce a new one, so you don't have to view an offensive logo for long.

2. You can have an influence on which logos are randomly displayed, by voting on them at http://pouet.net/logos.php.

3. "Female objectification" used to be a lot worse than it is now, mainly because teenage boys made up a larger share of the scene. Entire graphics compos could be traced back to Boris Vallejo pics and softcore porn.. Danny's "Space Tits" from The Party 95 being a notable example, where it seems he just drew some stuff on some boobs he copied off a couple photos. "Danny draw beautiful breast!" was a humorous defense of that picture.

4. It's not all about sexuality or naked chicks. There are plenty of scene gfx out there by males with muscular, nearly/fully nude male figures, simply for art's sake and not necessarily a sign the artists are gay.

5. Lots of penis images out there too for your enjoyment, e.g. "Muna", "Saulin Penis". And that doesn't necessarily make Finland more phallus-obsessed than any other nation. ;) Just a crude sense of humor, is all.

6. The scene is about freedom of expression, and that means there's gonna be stuff you love and stuff you hate. If you can't find a way to disable/block what you hate, then just ignore it.

OK dubmood - this is seriously out of line. Sure some name-calling/trolling when debating a subject is all good, but saying things like this is just way out there.

Freedom of expression is not an absolute thing, even in the demoscene. Your freedom to wave a laser pointer at the screen during the demo compo needs to be balanced against the freedom of everyone else to enjoy the compo, for example. And likewise, this issue is about the greater good too: if just one person is turned off by the "frat party" culture in the demoscene and goes off to find another community (or another hobby entirely) - if we fail to be welcoming and inclusive to people who want to exercise THEIR freedom of expression through demo making, then that's a greater loss than not being allowed to display random boobs to people browsing a website.

1. If you see something out of line, just look away, it's easier.
2. The majority who vote should always be regarded over the majority who doesn't.
3. Everything is fine because we don't suck as bad as we used to be.
4./5. Don't worry about exclusion, because some demos have penises.
6. I thought the scene was about making demos, but okay, we'll roll with your jurisdictional definition although - in that case, we should probably also consider indecent exposure or obscenity laws. BUT OH WELL.

Does it ever get into your thick skulls that maybe, and just perhaps maybe, people all have different priorities when it comes to what occupies their mental budget and that on the absolute scale of suck of what's going on *not only* on a global scale but, more importantly, in each of our own personal spaces there might be issues that simply take precedence over something like this and that maybe there's a certain amount of worrying one can do and that maybe for that reason it's completely legit to vocalize the fact that you either care or don't without being fucking lectured?
