inopia, it's dead slow on my pc :-(
Same here but still, AARDBEI!
rasmus: have you tried Chrome or FF4?
Inopia: Don't know about fissefisserasmus but running in chrome here.
@cg_: no clue then. Running smoothly here on a dual core 1.66Ghz, Ubuntu 10.4, Chrome. Slower but still watchable on FF3.6 though, very slow on Opera 10.6. Works perfectly on pretty much anything I've tried it on, including Windows7 + IE9 beta (which is another thing you could try if you're running windows).
Maybe your browser isn't using hardware acceleration to do the image drawing primitives? If you're running lunix, do you have hardware acceleration enabled? Can't really think of anything else.

Woah, good presentation Inopia :O
Thanks trace, although I'm not sure anyone will be able to beat this.
inopia, i'm using chrome on windows.
og hej erik :)
inopia, slow but watchable here (i7 2.80ghz, win7 x64 + Chrome or FF3)... pretty cool may i add!
I think only IE9 has hardware acceleration for these operations.
It runs smoothly here in Chrome/Ubuntu 10.4 too. Maybe rasmus & cg are using running Chrome/MacOS which is, unfortunately, very slow.

Oh, maybe they are not.
Inopia: Are you in the Dev (Unstable) channel? As far as I know, they are pushing HA there.
@Inopia: dual core 1.99ghz, windoze xp
It's at work though will have a lookise at home in either ubuntu or w7 ;)

The radial blur is recursive, like the one in TPB-3. Every frame there's 16 full-size calls to drawImage, each slightly translated and scaled. Without hardware acc. this could be slow. That's the only explanation I can think of really.
trace: I'm using Chrome 5.0.375.125 (normal), FF 3.6.

inopia, aren't they all? :)
rasmus: try IE9 then, might make a difference.
FWIW Inopia's entry was smooth as a baby bottom in Opera 10.61 ( coming soon ) and 10.70
p01's entry was the editor's choice at http://www.qbn.com/
It even reached qbn. That's interesting :)
mr. doob gets a mention too. Nice scene domination there :)
Mhh... Although I feel it's because "name voting". Time to create yet another name ;)
trace: you are gonna end up with severe personality disorder :D
Inopia is back! :D
I've been able to compress my snowman shit a bit more, about 200 bytes less to 680 bytes. Unfortunately it is much slower, so I'm not going to send it to js1k.
It has been a lot of fun, I never thought there were that big amount of space in 1kb in Javacript.
So, thinking that there is enough room for more than one effect in 1kb, who is going to do the first multi-effect for js1k?
