Revision 2012

So I just checked real carefully and I came to a shocking conclusion: Revision is NOT scenepoints™ certified! In that light I'm not sure I can enter my release there.

Don't know what I'm talking about? Visit www.scenepoints.me today!

From their website:

How do I know a Demoparty is a certified SCENEPOINTS partner?

That's easy. Just look for the button displayed here. Only Demoparties with this logo are official authorized SCENEPOINTS partners.

So we just have to include that image to squash Paralax' anxiety? Now that's an easy one!

Scenepoints is much older than April 1st, so no, it's not a joke.
Im all for a VIP Area at the big parties where entrance is only permitted for people with at least 1k scenepoints.

Small reminder for the musicians taking part in the exe newskool music compo :

Please add a WAVE writer to your entry ! Command line switches = win !

(over the size limit that way ? you can put multiple files in your archive - one with writer and one without it, sticking to the sizelimit)

Wouldn't an mp3 in the archive be just as fine? Yeah, I know it would be possible to do postprocessing etc. that way, but it's pretty easy to compare and disqualify entries trying to abuse this.

So we have now arrived at the point where mp3 delivers sufficient quality even for the musicians themselves when they have another choice, eh? :)

Punqtured: What exactly is the difference between CopyMemory(pDsoundBuffer...) and WriteFile(hWav...)? ;)

Kb_: You're right. But I mean ... It's an executable music compo ... I'm sure the slight quality loss won't be audible to most and will definately not make any difference on the outcome of the voting. Changing nick would have way more impact ;)

Gargaj: The difference being either what you suggest, or code for the other prod ... Right now, I prefer the latter :-p

i vote that all competing at revision exe music compo takes a name permuted from "punqtured"
Surely if you're capable of making an mp3 of your exe music entry, you either: a) have a wav writer you can give to the organisers, or b) are doing something faintly ridiculous with audio cables that rather nullifies the point about sound quality...?
